Power

This is Deye's single-phase solar inverter for houses and small businesses that have outgrown a 5 kW unit. Six ratings sit under one listing, from 7 kW up to 10.5 kW, and every one of them converts at up to 97.7% with two independent panel inputs. The smaller three share a 12.1 kg body; the 9 kW and above move to a taller 14.8 kg case with a front screen and Wi-Fi on board.

True of every rating

  • 97.7% peak conversion, 97.2% on the European weighted average, on all six ratings
  • Two panel inputs tracking 70 V to 500 V, waking at 80 V so it starts early in the morning
  • Sealed well enough to sit on an outside wall (IP65), fanless, and under 35 dB
  • Rated from -25 to +60 C and up to 3000 m altitude, with 5 years of warranty

7 kW single-phase solar inverter for a rooftop array up to 10.5 kW

The entry point in this range, and the size most 6 kW to 8 kW rooftops land on. It takes up to 10.5 kW of panels across its two inputs and pushes out 35 A at full tilt, which is 7.7 kVA of apparent power. At 12.1 kg it is light enough for one person to lift onto a bracket. Monitoring runs over RS485 or RS232, with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G or LAN as an optional stick.

Max panel input: 10.5 kW · Max AC output current: 35 A · Apparent power: 7.7 kVA · Weight: 12.1 kg

Model code: SUN-7K-G02P1-EU-AM2

7.5 kW single-phase string inverter, 11.3 kW of panels, 12.1 kg

A half step above the 7 kW, worth taking when the array lands near 11 kW. Panel input tops out at 11.3 kW and the AC side gives 37.5 A, or 8.25 kVA. Cabinet, weight and cooling are identical to the 7 kW and 8 kW: the same 12.1 kg fanless case and the same pair of 18 A and 26 A panel inputs. Pick it only if your string layout genuinely sits between the two.

Max panel input: 11.3 kW · Max AC output current: 37.5 A · Apparent power: 8.25 kVA · Weight: 12.1 kg

Model code: SUN-7.5K-G02P1-EU-AM2

8 kW single-phase solar inverter, 12 kW panel input, 40 A output

The top of the lighter chassis. It accepts 12 kW of panels and its AC output reaches 40 A at 8.8 kVA, which suits a well-loaded roof on one phase. The body is the same 12.1 kg unit as the 7 kW and 7.5 kW, so mounting and clearance planning do not change. If the design calls for more than 12 kW of modules, move up to the 9 kW and its taller case.

Max panel input: 12 kW · Max AC output current: 40 A · Apparent power: 8.8 kVA · Weight: 12.1 kg

Model code: SUN-8K-G02P1-EU-AM2

9 kW single-phase inverter with an LCD screen and 13.5 kW PV input

First model in the taller 14.8 kg case, and the first with an LCD1602 screen on the front, so an installer can read a fault without a phone. Both panel inputs are rated 26 A here rather than 18 A and 26 A, which suits two strings of equal length. It handles 13.5 kW of panels and 45 A of output, and Wi-Fi and LAN are part of the standard communication set instead of an add-on.

Max panel input: 13.5 kW · Max AC output current: 45 A · Apparent power: 9.9 kVA · Weight: 14.8 kg

Model code: SUN-9K-G02P1-EU-AM2

10 kW single-phase solar inverter for a 15 kW array, Wi-Fi built in

The workhorse of the larger three. Panel input stretches to 15 kW and output reaches 50 A, or 11 kVA of apparent power, which covers a large villa or a small workshop running on one phase. Body, screen and twin 26 A inputs match the 9 kW and 10.5 kW, at 14.8 kg. Choose it over the 9 kW when the roof has space for more than 13.5 kW of modules.

Max panel input: 15 kW · Max AC output current: 50 A · Apparent power: 11 kVA · Weight: 14.8 kg

Model code: SUN-10K-G02P1-EU-AM2

10.5 kW single-phase solar inverter, the largest in this range

The largest single-phase unit in this family. It takes 15.8 kW of panels and delivers 52.5 A, or 11.55 kVA, which is a lot of current to carry on one phase and worth checking against your incoming supply. Everything mechanical matches the 9 kW and 10 kW: 14.8 kg, natural cooling, no fan to service. Past this point the sensible move is a three-phase inverter rather than a bigger single-phase one.

Max panel input: 15.8 kW · Max AC output current: 52.5 A · Apparent power: 11.55 kVA · Weight: 14.8 kg
