Power

The SUN-SG05LP3-EU-SM2 is Deye's three-phase hybrid inverter for buildings wired at 380 or 400 V, in twelve sizes from a 3 kW house up to a 20 kW commercial roof. Each one runs the panels, charges a 48 V battery and keeps the loads alive when the grid drops, all from a single wall-mounted box. Sizes from 3 to 12 kW share one 35.2 kg case; 14 kW and above move to a bigger case with two battery inputs.

True of every rating

  • Works with a 48 V bank, lead-acid or lithium, anywhere between 40 and 60 V, so an existing battery usually carries over.
  • Two MPPT trackers and an 800 V maximum PV input, which lets long roof strings come straight in without extra gear.
  • The case is sealed to IP65 and rated to 3,000 m, air cooled, and specified from -40 up to +60 C with derating above 45 C.
  • Ten units run in parallel, and each holds twice its rated power for 10 seconds when a pump or compressor starts.

3 kW three-phase hybrid inverter for a small home or a workshop

This is the smallest unit in the range and suits a modest three-phase home or a workshop running lights, a fridge and one or two air conditioners. It accepts up to 6,000 W of panels, holds 3,300 VA on its output and charges a 48 V bank at up to 70 A. Rated output current is 4.6 A per phase. The case weighs 35.2 kg and takes one battery input, so a single bank is the intended setup.

Max battery charge current: 70 A · Max PV array: 6,000 W · Max apparent power: 3,300 VA · Rated output current: 4.6 A

Model code: SUN-3K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2

4 kW three-phase hybrid inverter for a home with a larger solar roof

Step up from the 3 kW when the roof is bigger than the loads. This one carries 8,000 W of panels, 4,400 VA of output and charges the battery at up to 95 A against 70 A on the 3 kW. Rated output is 6.1 A per phase. It uses the same 35.2 kg wall case and the same single battery input, so the extra kilowatt costs nothing in wall space or cabling.

Max battery charge current: 95 A · Max PV array: 8,000 W · Max apparent power: 4,400 VA · Rated output current: 6.1 A

Model code: SUN-4K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2

5 kW three-phase hybrid inverter, the usual size for a family villa

The size most villas end up with. It takes 10,000 W of panels, delivers 5,500 VA and pushes up to 120 A into the battery, so a bank refills through the middle of the day instead of trickling all afternoon. Rated output is 7.6 A per phase. Panels feed two trackers with a 250 to 650 V full load window, and the unit still fits the 35.2 kg wall case used by every model below 14 kW.

Max battery charge current: 120 A · Max PV array: 10,000 W · Max apparent power: 5,500 VA · Rated output current: 7.6 A

Model code: SUN-5K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2

6 kW three-phase hybrid inverter for a villa with heavy air conditioning

Choose this over the 5 kW when several air conditioners run at once. Output rises to 6,600 VA and 9.1 A per phase, the array can reach 12,000 W, and charging climbs to 135 A. Everything else matches the smaller units: one battery input, 45 A of grid passthrough to the loads and the same 35.2 kg case, so an installer sizing the distribution board has nothing new to work out.

Max battery charge current: 135 A · Max PV array: 12,000 W · Max apparent power: 6,600 VA · Rated output current: 9.1 A

Model code: SUN-6K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2

8 kW three-phase hybrid inverter for a large villa or a small shop

The first real jump in the range. PV input rises to 12,800 W with a 16,000 W array allowed, each tracker takes 26 A instead of 20 A, and the full load window narrows to 350 to 650 V, so strings need to be a little longer than on the 6 kW. Output is 8,800 VA at 12.2 A per phase and the battery charges at 190 A. It keeps the 35.2 kg case and one battery input.

Max battery charge current: 190 A · Max PV array: 16,000 W · Max apparent power: 8,800 VA · Rated output current: 12.2 A

Model code: SUN-8K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2

10 kW three-phase hybrid inverter for a shop, a clinic or farm pumps

A good match for a shop, a clinic or a farm with pumps. It handles a 20,000 W array, 11,000 VA of output and 15.2 A per phase, with battery charging at 210 A. This model also lists reverse polarity protection on the DC side and insulation resistance monitoring. Grid passthrough to the loads stays at 45 A, so the largest non-solar loads pass through the unit rather than round it.

Max battery charge current: 210 A · Max PV array: 20,000 W · Max apparent power: 11,000 VA · Rated output current: 15.2 A

Model code: SUN-10K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2

12 kW three-phase hybrid inverter for a busy shop or a light workshop

The largest unit that still uses the 35.2 kg case and a single battery input, which makes it the easiest of the bigger sizes to fit where wall space is tight. The array can reach 24,000 W, output is 13,200 VA at 18.2 A per phase, and the battery charges at 240 A. Like the 10 kW it carries DC reverse polarity protection and insulation resistance monitoring.

Max battery charge current: 240 A · Max PV array: 24,000 W · Max apparent power: 13,200 VA · Rated output current: 18.2 A

Model code: SUN-12K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2

14 kW three-phase hybrid inverter with two battery inputs for business use

Here the hardware changes. The 14 kW moves to a larger 51.9 kg case with two battery inputs instead of one and 70 A of grid passthrough rather than 45 A. It takes a 28,000 W array, gives 15,400 VA at 21.3 A per phase and charges at 260 A. The tracking window also widens at the bottom to 160 V, which helps on dull mornings. Fan noise is quoted at 60 dB.

Max battery charge current: 260 A · Max PV array: 28,000 W · Max apparent power: 15,400 VA · Battery inputs: 2

Model code: SUN-14K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2

15 kW three-phase hybrid inverter for a small factory or a cold store

A step up inside the big case: 30,000 W of panels, 16,500 VA of output and 22.8 A per phase, with the battery charging at 280 A across its two inputs. Full load tracking starts at 330 V. It suits a small factory or a cold store where a compressor cycles all day and the roof is large enough to keep the bank topped up between cycles.

Max battery charge current: 280 A · Max PV array: 30,000 W · Max apparent power: 16,500 VA · Rated output current: 22.8 A

Model code: SUN-15K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2

16 kW three-phase hybrid inverter for a workshop with motor loads

The middle of the large-case group. It allows a 32,000 W array, produces 17,600 VA at 24.3 A per phase and charges at 300 A. Full load tracking begins at 350 V, so strings want to be longer than on the 14 kW. With 70 A of passthrough and two battery inputs it copes with a workshop where motors start and stop through the day and the load never settles.

Max battery charge current: 300 A · Max PV array: 32,000 W · Max apparent power: 17,600 VA · Rated output current: 24.3 A

Model code: SUN-16K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2

18 kW three-phase hybrid inverter for a commercial rooftop array

This one is aimed at a commercial roof. The array can reach 36,000 W, output is 19,800 VA at 27.3 A per phase and charging runs to 330 A. Full load tracking starts at 400 V, which means longer strings than any smaller model here. It shares the 51.9 kg case, the two battery inputs and the 70 A grid passthrough with the rest of the large group.

Max battery charge current: 330 A · Max PV array: 36,000 W · Max apparent power: 19,800 VA · Rated output current: 27.3 A

Model code: SUN-18K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2

20 kW three-phase hybrid inverter, the largest in this low-voltage range

The top of the low-voltage three-phase range. It takes 40,000 W of panels, delivers 22,000 VA at 30.4 A per phase and charges the battery at 350 A, the highest figure here. Full load tracking begins at 440 V, so this one wants long strings and a big roof. Ten units run in parallel, which is how a 200 kW site gets built out of stock parts rather than a custom cabinet.

Max battery charge current: 350 A · Max PV array: 40,000 W · Max apparent power: 22,000 VA · Rated output current: 30.4 A
